Looking After Your Mirror
1. Cleaning the Mirror Surface
Always use a soft, lint-free cotton cloth to clean the glass. Lightly dampen the cloth with distilled water for general cleaning. For a streak-free finish, you may add a few drops of methylated spirits or isopropyl alcohol. Avoid harsh chemical sprays, abrasive cloths, or paper towels, as these can scratch the mirror surface.
2. Cleaning the Mirror Edges
When cleaning the edges, use only a microfiber cloth lightly moistened with distilled water. Avoid hard rubbing, as this may damage the protective edge seal and lead to corrosion. Do not use 100% methylated spirits, isopropyl alcohol, cleaning solutions, or commercial glass cleaners on the edges, as these can also compromise the seal.
Note: Each mirror contains a fine silver line along the edge that, if left exposed to moisture or chemicals, can tarnish over time. At Clearlight Designs, we use advanced paint technology and apply a protective edge sealer to resist corrosion. However, the sealer cannot withstand repeated contact with harsh cleaners, moisture buildup, or abrasives.
3. Caring for the LED Lighting
Your LED mirror is designed for long life and energy efficiency. To maintain brightness and performance:
- Avoid spraying water or cleaning solutions directly onto the LED strips.
- Keep ventilation clear around the mirror to prevent moisture and heat buildup.
4. Final Polish
Finish by drying and polishing the surface with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to restore clarity and shine. This helps prevent streaks and maintains the pristine look of your LED Mirror.
Important!
Misuse or failure to follow these care guidelines may void parts of your warranty. Clearlight Designs is not liable for damage resulting from improper maintenance outside the terms of our Mirror Product Warranty.
